ExcellentBased on 53 reviewsVerifiedJoanna P2024-01-1810/10. No regrets! The Galapagos is filled with loads of activities that can be overwhelming to decide between especially with limited time (as we did). Look no further than Galatrails. Juan was incredibly friendly, helpful and insightful with tours that were best catered to what my husband and I were after. He offered round the clock help and was only one message away with any questions we had. He also offered valuable tips e.g how to get onto the ferry transfers for the best possible seat and gave us the tip to get motion sickness tablets from the local pharmacy as a precautionary measure in case we get sick. Which we did and are so so thankful for. All our transfers, hotels and activities were top notch and incredibly high quality. Everything went so smoothly and although we tried our best to speak Spanish everyone spoke English Which just made everything so much easier but also a peace of mind that nothing was lost in translation. The service was amazing and we had the absolute best time! We were met with super friendly locals at every arrival point and instantly felt at home and welcomed into their town. My husband and I, as mentioned had very limited time and our priorities were snorkelling and spending most of our time amongst the wildlife. In Santa Cruz we visited Racho primicias, walked through an impressive lava tunnel and bush walked around these amazing lava craters. On Isabella island we did the los túneles cabo rosa snorkelling tour. This was the best introductory snorkel. We were very fortunate to see reef sharks, turtles, eagle rays, sea horses, blue footed boobies, a penguin and an array of fish of course. We were given wet suits and sanitised, high quality snorkels. The extra detail that put the cherry on top were the little snacks that we were offered in between snorkel points. If we had time we would have done tinorelas as well but I guess that gives us a good excuse to come back! Finally, on San Cristobal we did the kicker rock tour and this was an absolute highlight! I loved this snorkel tour. I was very nervous but the guides were exceptional and I felt safe at all times. We were so fortunate on this day. We saw scalloped hammerhead sharks, eagle rays, turtles, the most amazing schools of fish, the coral/rock walls were so colourful and we were even super lucky to be escorted back by dolphins on our trip back. Our boat was very spacious with an abundance of food and drinks which was just what we needed after long stints of snorkelling. There is so much more we would have liked to do, but for the time we had, Juan picked the best activities that perfectly catered to what we wanted out of our trip. We will be back and will not hesitate to get back in contact with Galatrails. If you have any hesitations about any of the activities or operators for the Galapagos. Contact Galatrails, you won’t be sorry!VerifiedJames S2024-01-18Seamless, bespoke perfection! Galatrails has my highest recommendation. I visited Galapagos with Intrepid Tours in 2017 and had Juan as our guide. He was fantastic and so easy going. I wanted to revisit Galapagos this year, as it's a special place that I was excited to introduce my wife to. Although I had experience travelling Galapagos, I was hesitant to book things on my own, as there are certain nuances that can cause headaches, such as transfers between islands and hotels, and tour group availability/inclusions. I already knew exactly which islands we wanted to visit and what activities we wanted to do. I had stayed in touch with Juan over the years, and contacted him for advice regarding how best to book things in advance and how much time to allocate to transfers etc. I was happy to hear that Juan was now operating tours himself with Galatrails and did not hesitate to enlist his services to book everything through him. Juan provided us with a bespoke tour, with everything able to be customised to our needs and budget. Absolutely everything went as smoothly as possible, and far exceeded my expectations. Every single transfer and activity was fantastic. After having completed this tour, I was so grateful for Juan and the Galatrails team, as there is absolutely no way I could have had things run so smoothly without them. My favourite thing about Galatrails is that all the guides were extremely responsive over WhatsApp and never once failed to provide us with extremely sound advice at all times of day and night. 10/10 experience and would love to recommend Galatrails to absolutely anyone.VerifiedKatja R2024-01-08Galatrails is great! I only decided to take a trip to Galapagos Islands in November for Christmas with my taughter. Juan Elaje from Galatrails was highly recommended to us. I can only say that it was one of the fantastic, perfectly planned trips I ever had. Juan booked hotels, guides and tours so well for us that we had a new highlight every day. The hotels were perfectly equipped with great service and a pool to cool down in the middle of Santa Cruz. The guides were all very nice and spoke English or German, so we felt very well looked after. All of Juan‘s trips were very well chosen, so that we never regretted a trip. We went on 4 snorkeling tours, where we saw tortoises, sharks, penguins and lots of beautiful fish. Isabela, Plaza and Tortuga Bay were our highlights. Juan is a very good organizer. It seemed to us as he was there for you 24/7. Great experience thanks to Juan!VerifiedSara C2023-12-30Easy, reliable, and quality tour reservations Juan made our lives easy, communicating via WhatsApp to get us set up on boats that had spots available - both well in advance and last minute. He checked in to make sure we were completely taken care of. And the tours were great - meeting all of our wildlife viewing hopes and dreams! The tour guide for León Dormido/Kicker Rock was a super knowledgeable naturalist. We really enjoyed him - and snorkeling with a hammerhead shark! ????Verifiedmollyea03102023-12-28Pinzon island snorkeling Juan was excellent and very responsive at organising our tour to Pinzon Island. We had a fantastic time and saw turtles and sharks to name a few! I would wholly recommend Juan for booking your Galapagos day trips and excursions. Sempre respondeu prontamente as mensagens do whatsapp , tirando todas as dúvidas.VerifiedAdriano F2023-08-23A journey, a dream My experience with Galatrails has been absolutely fantastic. The proposed excursions were very interesting and well organized. The staff on board the boats was very kind and attentive. Isla Bartolomé is a wonderful place. The price-quality ratio is very good. Excellent organization and last night's dinner.VerifiedBrenna S2023-07-26Book Your Day Trips from Puerto Ayora with GalaTrails Can't speak highly enough of my experience with GalaTrails. I found them recommended randomly in a couple blogs as I was frantically trying to organize some day trips to some other highlands around Santa Cruz. My trip to the Galapagos happened very last minute so I was really trying to organize and confirm plans quickly. Juan from GalaTrails was incredibly responsive to my Whatsapp message out of nowhere and quickly jumped into action to help plan our trips. He was really communicative and detailed which made me confident that the plans were going to come together. The way things work in the Galapagos is that there are essentially different fleets of boats. A small number of boats are permitted to go to each island each day. When you contact a tour company like GalaTrails, they reach out to the boat operators and see if there are spots left on their boats for the specific island you want to go to. Juan got us booked on a day trip to South Plazas and also one to Seymour Island. You don't have to worry about anything, it's all inclusive. They organize transportation from Puerto Ayora to where the boat is, the boat trip, tour guide, lunch, snorkeling gear. It was an incredibly smooth operation. Seymour Island was amazing. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took us on a very low intensity hike around the island. The highlights of the island were definitely the nesting blue footed boobies and the frigate birds. After leaving Seymour, we went snorkeling which was also incredible. There were beautiful tropical fish and at the very end we saw a sea turtle feeding, mere feet away from us. South Plazas was also really fascinating. The landscape of the island is really interesting with colorful red plant life growing on the island and impressive cliffs where a number of different types of birds next. The highlights were the tropical birds, the different types of iguanas, and the colonies of sea lions....and the tiger shark swimming along the shoreline. Again, can't recommend GalaTrails enough. While ultimately, you end up on the same boats no matter which travel agent/tour company you go through to book these day trips from Puerto Ayora, I really recommend booking through them because of how incredibly responsive they were, how trustworthy they are, how smooth all the communication was and how everything went according to plan, and how invested they were in ensuring everything worked out. Juan continued to check in with me throughout out stay to make sure the day trips went well and to see if he could help with anything else.VerifiedKatrin2023-07-16Amazing trip As a family of five we did the „five days/four nights Santa Cruz and Isabela“ tour organized by Galatrails. We had a great time! The communication with Juan was excellent at any time. He always had an open ear for all of our questions, helped us to make the best out of these five days, gave us clear instructions and tips, organized great natural guides for the day trips and served us with real good food!! I can highly recommend Galatrails!!VerifiedAdam M2023-06-2110/10 for Galatrails & Bartolome - PENGUINS! Isla Bartolome is the most beautiful island in Galapagos and is absolutely worth the trip! Not only did we get some incredible photos from the iconic viewpoint, but we got to see AND SWIM WITH the endangered Galapagos Penguins while snorkeling there. Plus blue footed booby sightings constantly! This was one of the absolute highlights of 3 weeks in Ecuador. As our tour operator, Galatrails did EVERYTHING right. Their communication was excellent throughout, which is a novelty in Galapagos, and the food was so much better than expected. On top of that, they provided a lot of nice touches such as celebratory champagne and desert on the return voyage. Can't recommend Galatrails and Bartolome Island enough.
