My name is Juan Elaje, founder of GALATRAILS and I am originally from the Los Rios Province located on the coast of Mainland Ecuador. At the age of 12 I moved with my family to the Galapagos Islands and was amazed by the serenity of the islands, wildlife and white sandy beaches.
Growing up in this enchanting environment meant that Puerto Ayora quickly became my home. In 1998 I began my career in tourism and realized that, through my work, I could share my passion for the beauty of my home with others. Over the years I have worked in many tourism related areas on the Galapagos Islands before finally realizing my true ambition of opening a tour agency of my own but with a new perspective. My aim is for our guest to leave the islands, not only having discovered the natural beauty of the Galapagos but, also working making comfortable and stress free trips where they can fully focus on exploring and experienced island life by immersing themselves in the local culture and enhancing the lives of local Galapagueño people.
My vision is to create responsible and sustainable local base tourism for our guests and to contribute to the improvement of the local economy through the interaction during the tours to the Galapagos. Offering once in a lifetime trips where you can see the best of what the islands have to offer without sacrificing comfort.
